Chateau d'Issan: nice
light purple colour, discrete
nose with
oak,
vanilla, red fruits and
floral tones. A mouthful of
green tannins
balanced with
acidity and little
sweetness. Softens after one hour or so. This wine seems right in the middle of its evolution and doesn't show a very pleasant image right now. Needs to be decanted a couple of hours before drinking. Shows some potential but it obviously needs to be reviewed again within a couple of years. I scored this wine more on its mid-long term potential than on today's unfriendly status.
85/100.
